To mark the 22nd Global youth Service Day, KESYDO, in collaboration with Liverpool VCT organized Voluntary testing and counseling (VCT) sessions for Residents of Mathare, Eastleigh and environs. The sessions were conducted at the Saint Theresa Girls School grounds on 23rd and 24th of April to run concurrent with the GYSD celebrations.  47 males and 46 Females were tested for HIV and TB and underwent counselling sessions on various aspects of social life. Among those who attended the VCT sessions included 1 couple attended of which 2 persons under the age of 15. Liverpool VCT services provided 5 counselors, tents, and testing kits for the exercise

The Exercise was lauded as a huge success given that this number supersedes the normal turnout in VCT stations operating area and its environs. Mr. David Njihia of Liverpool VCT and Mr. Jacob Nyarwati of KESYDO coordinated the exercise.

A voter registration exercise conducted by the Kenya Interim Independent Electoral Commission (IIEC) also benefited from the events as hundreds of youth were encouraged to register as voters.
